Happy Thanksgiving week. What a wonderful season of the year here in Waterloo Region. The colours are fabulous. The trees have been adorned superbly. It has been simply amazing to be out and about these last few weeks. What a blessing.
It is time to catch up again. Summer just flew by. September seemed to vanish and here we are already mid October. How have you been over the past few months? I am grateful to heavenly Father for all aspects of good health during these days of COVID-19. On Sunday we were asked to name some things for which we are thankful. I gave thanks for employment. Many have suffered job losses in the past months. I am also so blessed with a wonderful family and faith family. How about you?
A song that has been going around in my thoughts today is “Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart.” Check it out. It is a good reminder for us.
Just this week I am praising God for a group of young medical professionals who are on mission in the southwest of Haiti. They travelled to Benoit last Saturday and have been there for the week providing medical care in that community. Thank you God for their willingness to serve in spite of the challenges: poor roads, limited communication as well as instability within the country. Praise God for the “window” of opportunity. They had arranged to go mid September but unrest in PauP cancelled those plans. They will be leaving Benoit a day early because of a strike announced for Saturday in the capital. Pray for safety as they return to PauP and then continue on to their homes areas in Hinche as well as Ouanaminthe and Gens de Nantes.
Wow, such a blessing to see the clinic in motion this week. I was on a video WhatsApp earlier today with Se Herlynda. I was able to say hello to the team. Do I wish I was there? Honestly, YES. I love these opportunities of outreach. But do I need to be there? Honestly, NO. These are well trained personnel with capacity and more importantly a heart for the community of Benoit. All the challenges are overlooked in view of eternity.
In the last post I had asked for prayer for our dear brother, Pastor Lizand (PauP, Benoit) – who had a second stroke, and was left with weakness, difficulty walking and talking.
Praise God with me. Lizand is now able to move about and his speech is good. I am so thankful for the healing that has taken place in this man’s life. Praise for Mrs Lizand as well. Remember she also had health concerns following an electric shock during a rain storm. She had burns and a leg fracture. She too is well after months of recuperating.
- Haiti – for stability and security. Also pray for those who are significantly impacted with the change in currency in the last week.
